Needlessness of Wisdom by ~MetalBabyDolly:iconMetalBabyDolly:

Do not seek out wisdom tomorrow
For wisdom only brings grief
And with grief follows sorrow
Idiocy and wisdom end the same
Wisdom equals power is a false belief
The wise man dies just as the fool
Both buried deep in a wooden frame

Nothing new can ever be thought
What is has been; Like a never ending pool
No one really remembers the things past
What's born will die just as it ought
All that you own will crumble to dust
Even your house will be turned to ash
Therefor what do you profit from your labor

Author's Comments

Inspired by the book of Eccl. Notably the "everything is meaningless" part.

Never was one for poetry, but this is pretty interesting. (I mean that in the good way :constipated:)

"The subconscious is a state in which reality is just a visitor."

Although, I don't entirely agree with this and my philosophies are a bitdifferent from yours, I still found this really interesting and also beautiful to read. The viewpoint you express isn't exactly original, but you wrote of it very well.
Meaning of life is very subjective, and you've shown one side of it very nicely. Life is neither meaningless or meaningful, because half the people believe there is no meaning and that their actions are absurdities, and the other half attach meaning to their lives, whether it should be there or not. So, this statement could lead to, "You're just filling your lives up until you die, all the things you do are only because your life is meaningless."
That may be true, when you look at all the stupid things humans do, you wonder if they're just trying to find stimulation in a meaningless life.
On your wording.. I think the "tomorrow" feels pointless and like it was stuck in there so it would go along with the third line.
And as well, the last line: It seems odd to state "Therefor" and then ask a question. You need to decide if you're telling the reader something, or asking them something.
All in all, very cool.

interesting viewpoint, i go with "nothing matters, i might as well have fun"
